Textile Installation

As part of the Audrey Baschet exhibition and in conjunction with the opening of Agape Space, Anna Agapova presented the installation "Interwoven Realms". After two decades of shaping interior spaces as a designer, Anna Agapova embarks on a new journey of self-discovery through art. This marks a significant shift as she channels her expertise into a fresh artistic direction, immersing herself in the creation of captivating experiences within spaces. The essence of this new artistic chapter lies in the creation of immersive environments within existing spaces, inviting viewers to explore and engage in a unique sensorial experience.

At the heart of the installation is the cotton gauze fabric, selected to represent the tangible embodiment of the artist's consciousness and the creative process. The fabric acts as a metaphorical canvas, capturing the essence of the artist's thoughts, dreams, and emotions. Its delicate and translucent nature invites viewers to peer into the depths of the artist's mind, revealing the vulnerability and authenticity that underlie the creative process.

The Red Threat of Fate

"I’ve always been fascinated by the Japanese legend of the Red String of Fate. According to this myth, an invisible red thread connects us to those destined to shape our lives.

I believe that every artist is bound by their own red thread — an unbreakable connection to their creative destiny. Even when it doesn’t bring financial rewards, we can’t simply stop or be rational. The urge to create is always there, pulling us forward.”

Connection between the artist and the viewer

Thread, weaves through the fabric, forming a complex network that symbolises the connection between the artist's consciousness and the viewer. The threads not only physically bind the elements together but also serve as conduits for the artist's ideas and concepts.

This interplay of fabric and thread invites contemplation on the interconnectivity of human experience and the shared tapestry of existence. The red thread is a central element of the installation. Like an invisible cord, it ties individuals together, creating a like-minded community.
